Captain of Office of Professional Standards

Description: Assists in the leadership and management of the university police department staff as a senior member of the Command Staff assigned to specific operational areas of responsibility including but not limited to: field operations, support operations, investigations, compliance, special operations and emergency services. Responsible for administrative and supervisory enforcement duties involving general and criminal regulations and institutional rules and regulations to provide for the protection, safety, and welfare of students, employees and property within the areas under the control and authorized jurisdiction of the agency.

Police Lieutenant

Description: To provide mentoring, leadership and management of the staff of the Kennesaw State University police department, as a member of the leadership staff assigned to a specific operational area of responsibility. To serve as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Responsible for administrative and supervisory enforcement duties involving general and criminal regulations and institutional rules and regulations in order to provide for the protection, safety, and welfare of students, employees and property within the areas under the control and authorized jurisdiction of the agency.

Security Officer

Description: Performs routine public safety duties in accordance with established guidelines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; patrolling assigned areas to ensure personnel, building and equipment security, warns violators of rule infractions, and assists with traffic & parking violations. Provides high profile, uniformed public safety services for the University campus and community. As non-sworn personnel, engages in active and regular patrols to assist in providing a safer and more secure campus environment. Functions as a public safety first responder for non-criminal incidents, and performs support roles to sworn police officers.
